Saint Maria Troncatti

A Salesian missionary in the Amazon, Maria Troncatti served the Shuar people as a nurse, dentist, and (most of all) a catechist. She worked in hospitals, mothered missions, and made frequent visits into the forest. She became a spiritual mother to the people of Ecuador lovingly called “Madrecita.”
